Memorial website in the memory of your loved one

This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Our precious Amanda Leigh Mckinnon who was born in  Calgary, Alberta, Canada on June 29, 1989 and was taken suddenly to heaven on August 12, 2000 at the age of 11. We will remember her and love her forever.  Amanda was a true lover of all animals and nature yes even bugs, and cared for many of her own animals and bugs very deeply. Amanda loved the outdoors and loved going camping. She was a friend to all and never judged any one she ever came in contact with. Amanda was a girl guide who took her motto very seriously.  She love to draw and was very creative.  Unfortunately Amanda was taken from us way to soon due to an ATV accident while out on a family weekend camping trip. Amanda went to Heaven that day but before her journey began she was with family and friends and loving what she was doing.  She was a daughter, sister, grandaughter, niece, cousin, and friend to all.
Amanda is survived by her Mom and Dad (Lorna & Wes) her brother Kyle Grandma & Grandpa Mckinnon, Grandma Davidson Aunty Tammy, Uncle Doug, Uncle Trevor, Aunty Heather, Uncle Justin, Aunty Kelly, Uncle Boyd, Cousins Cassandra, Reece, Jalayna, Kayla, Ashley And many more family and friends.
Amanda's Grandpa Davidson joined her in heaven on
January 13, 2003 They both will be missed dearly

Hearts  together forever

The Bluejay
The Bluejay is very special to our family as it is the last bird that Amanda Nurtured back to health, after finding it on the road she brought him home he was just a tiny gray bird.
Amanda knew she could give this little bird a chance because shehad already raised many magpies and pigeons and others. This little bluejay kept her up many nights on one peticular night
her dad heard a noise in the back yard it was about 4:00am he looked out and seen her digging worms, we then had to have a talk about getting the worms in the daytime because a little girl should not be out in the backyard in the middle of the night
She then figured that she could also feed him wet cat food and everyday asked for $1.00 to go to the store for a package. Blue the Bluejay grew and became very beautiful but Amanda was his mother, Amanda walked all over with him and people were very amazed and many took photos of this little girl and her bluejay.
It was the beginning of August when we told her that Blue would soonhave to go out on his own.
She then started taking him out in the backyard and put him in the trees to make sure he could fly, He
would fly from our kitchen window to the trees and back. He even ventured 2 houses down and would fly right into Amanda's Aunt Tammy's house and sit up on the cupboard ledge and then of course come back home to Amanda.
We had discussed that Blue would be released right after our camping trip, but unfortunately Amanda never came home from our camping trip, We released Blue that week it was very hard but he needed to be free, It took Blue a few days to leave the yard but he finally did and now flies free thanks to a Beautiful caring girl named
Amanda

A child who loses a parent is an Orphan,
A man who loses his wife is a Widower,
A woman who loses her husband is a Widow,
There is no name for a parent that loses a child
for there is no word to describe the pain

Eternal Candle of Love

 Hippie Girl
Amanda was our little Hippie child, She loved all and peace was very
important to her.  She dressed a little wild and colorful and would have been a vegetarian if she was able to keep eating chicken

There are no words to tell you
How much we miss you so.
We love you dear Amanda
And we wanted you to know.

You'll always be in our hearts
We think of you each day.
Although you had to leave us
The memories will stay.

The love you showed for others
All creatures great and small
Whether it be feathered friends
Or just the one's that crawl.

So now you are in Heaven
Spread your wings and soar.
For one day we'll meet again
And be apart no more.

This Rock was given to us as a wedding present from
Aunty Lois & Uncle Larry In 2003

Whenever we see or hear a Bluejay we think of you

Amanda had a love for all glittery and shiny things since she was a tiny baby

If I could only have one wish
One dream that would come true
Id pray to God with all my heart
For yesterday and you

You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide,
And though we can not see you
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

Sweet Angel Amanda watch over us and protect us

A million times we needed you
One million times we've cried:
If love could have saved you
You never would have died

We will never forget you our precious Angel

Kenny Chesney ~ Who You'd Be Today:

Sunny days seem to hurt the most ~ Wear the pain like a heavy coat
I feel you everywhere I go ~ See your smile, I see your face
I hear you laughing in the rain ~ Still can’t believe your gone
It ain’t fair you died to young ~ Like a story that had just begun
But death tore the pages all away ~ God knows how I miss you
All that I’ve been through ~ Just knowing, no one could take your place
Sometimes I wonder, who you’d be today
Would you see the world ~ Would you chase your dreams
Settle down with a family ~ I wonder what would you name your babies
Someday’s the sky’s so blue ~ I feel like I can talk to you
And I know it might sound crazy
It ain’t fair you died to young ~ Like a story that had just begun
But death tore the pages all away ~ God knows how I miss you
All that I’ve been through ~ Just knowing, no one could take your place
Sometimes I wonder, who you’d be today
Sunny days seem to hurt the most ~ I wear the pain like a heavy coat
The only thing that gives me hope ~ Is I know, I’ll see you again someday

Please light a candle before you leave

Perhaps they are not stars
In the sky
but rather openings
where our loved ones shine down
to let us know
they are happy.
