Amanda and Wes (her dad) went to a 3 hour interview for her to buy a Tarantula. They spent the evening learning all about spiders. The spider people just loved her and she came home with a new tarantula and they threw in a pair of Madagascar hissing cockroaches she named the tarantula Maryanne and the cockroaches pinky and the other one was named the brain. Unfortunatly in the summer of 1999 Amanda had Maryanne on her shoulder and did'nt realize that she would slide off the nylon coat she was wearing and Maryanne slid and died it took her a very long time to get over the death of that spider. |

Amanda gave us quite a scare when she had to have a cyst removed from her face, during the surjury she lost 4 adult teeth (back one's) and would have had to have had a denture plate made, she wore a retainer which she hated. Everything worked out fine and the cyst was just a cyst. |

Amanda decided for her birthday this year that she did'nt want a big birthday party at home. All she wanted was all her family to go to Red Lobster for dinner. Family was very important to her and what a great night we had, each member of the family was there for her. This was her last birthday with us and now each year we carry on that tradition that she started and have the family together and have seafood. What a great memory and gift she gave us of her last Birthday, both sides of our family at one big dinner. |
